Very often the communication in the relationship broke down long before the relationship actually ended. When you have children with your ex-partner, learning, planning ahead, creating, co-operating and getting used to having a new relationship as co-parents adds extra stress to both parties. On a logistical level there is lots to consider, two hands have to work a lot faster to do the jobs four hands did.
Life as a single parent has many rewards, but it can also require more effort to ensure you also have an identity outside of being a parent. This is important for you to continue to be a happy parent.
